Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation

Hey beautiful people!

Today's read is my review on a foundation. Yes, another foundation, but a girl just cannot resist buying them. Revlon's Nearly Naked liquid foundation was doing the rounds in the blog world only just recently and I was intrigued. With nearly naked in the name, I was curious and well I already sold on the name alone. I'm forever searching for a base that allows a flawless finish without looking like I'm wearing anything, and as of recent I haven't been wearing foundation that much so this seemed like the perfect thing. I'm a sucker for the no make up 'make up' look.

The thing that grinds my gears with drugstore makeup, foundation specifically is the shading and knowing whether it is the right one for you. I'm a pale girl, so I picked up the lightest shade 110 'Ivory'. I tried out their 'Vanilla' shade which was just one shade darker but still enough to tell it was definitely not my shade. I tested it on my jawline and decided this was for me, I placed it into my basket which at this point was already overflowing. Oops.

The next day I applied the foundation within my usual make up routine. Normally I use my Real Techniques buffing brush or foundation application but I just used my fingers the first time, and wow. It applies like a dream, I've since applied with the buffing brush and again the application is amazing it goes on effortlessly, and it feels almost like second skin. It is so light and so weightless you wouldn't think you were wearing foundation, which is what you want after all. It isn't cakey, it doesn't cling to blemishes or problem areas, it doesn't go patchy it is just perfect. Its light coverage for sure, but I definitely think you could build it up if you wanted extra coverage. I love the way how it makes my skin look though, and I would go as far as saying this is my new holy grail foundation. Bold statement to make, I know but it is like wow. It sort of reminds me of Estée Lauder's invisible fluid, in a way. It's a real lovely addition to my collection and I've been wearing it everyday since I purchased it. I can't find anything at fault with it, the only thing would be the packaging. The glass bottle is nice and the white top, I love that, however dispensing the foundation is difficult as there is no pump. It can become fiddly and there is the chance you will pour out too much and waste a lot of product. It's only a small negative though and I can live with that. I'm already thinking about repurchasing this when I run out, as well as picking up the pressed powder from the same nearly naked range!

Has anyone ever tried this? How did you get on with this?
Much love
Rebekah

rimmel apocalips celestial

 photo AAA0A46A-805B-43CC-85EB-06917689202A-230-00000028836CB6F4_zps9844aaed.jpg

Everyone and their mother has heard about the latest lip product to come from Rimmel. I say latest, it officially launched in January. There has been a vast array of reviews all over the blogosphere and I meticulously read a bunch of them before I decided that I needed this in my ever growing collection. By looking at it you may think it's just your ordinary run of the mill lipgloss, but don't be fooled as this is certainly no gloss. This lip lacquer may have the shine of a gloss, but oh my the pigmentation is wonderfully amazing and is the pigmentation of what you would expect to find in a lipstick.

These are just an absolute dream to apply to your lips, they're wonderfully creamy, the colours are extremely vibrant and rich. There are 8 different shades to choose from ranging from subtle nudes such as 'Luna' or a sultry spectacular red such as 'Big Bang' or 'Apocaliptic'. The shade I went for is 'Celestial' which I would describe as a dusky mauve toned pink with hints of coral. I love this shade, it's pretty and it's definitely a 'your lips but better' shade, well for me it is anyway. It's perfect for everyday wear. I find it looks great over a lipstick too. I'm hoping to expand my collection more with the likes of 'Stellar', 'Luna' and 'Big Bang'. You can't fault these, I think they are great and purse friendly too with them only being £5.99. Boots pretty much usually have a 3 for 2 on, so even better if you get them whilst their offers are on!

What are your thoughts on these? Have you tried them?
If you haven't I seriously recommend trying atleast one. Though, all you'll need is one
and you'll be swayed and converted...

Hope you've all had a fabulous day!
Much Love

current beauty and fashion wants

outfit and make up inspiration

Reading too many blog posts on certain products, or even discovering new products definitely has it's downfalls. That being the sudden drop of money leaving my bank account after accidently buying products I 'just had to have'. The downfalls definitely don't matter that much though, because hey at least I have pretty new stuff. Right? Though, I have to admit when reading reviews and posts on 'hyped up' products I definitely have to read atleast 20 different (slight exaggeration ) reviews just to make sure, after all, I don't want to spend my money on something that isn't what I expected, even though that does happen from time to time. I just love buying stuff. What girl doesn't?

Beauty
I've been needing to purchase another Rimmel Stay Matte powder for a while now since mine decided to break and crumble into pieces in my bag. Sob. Sob. Cheap and cheerful so a definite purchase ASAP. For the mean time I've been using a mix between my Maybelline Fit Me powder, My Avon one and my MUA one. All three are good, don't get me wrong, but I much prefer this gem, and the way it is on my skin.
Nars Laguna Bronzer is everywhere. Everyone seems to have this beauty, everyone except myself. This has been on my wishlist for months now and I can't even think why I haven't gone out and bought this yet. That will definitely soon be changing. This is a must have. After swatching a few weeks ago, and testing out, I fell in love.
After seeing Clinique's Moisture Surge Overnight Mask featured on Kate's blog (gh0stparties)  and then doing a bit more background research on the product (oo fancy!) I liked the idea and the sound of this. My skin is dull, to be quite frank. I love face masks especially overnight ones. I am itching to give this one a try. Clinique are a fabulous brand, even though the £28 price mark is a bit shit! Moving on to Barry M and their latest offering of a 'Hi Shine Gel Effect'. Now, I've never been a huge fan on Barry M nail polishes. Just me? Probably! Yeah, they have a few nice shades but they're not a brand I tend to gravitate towards for my Nail Polishes. However, these beauties, especially the shade above, well you can see for yourself it's beautiful. Everyone seems to be really impressed with the 'Gelly' range and I am dying to buy a few shades. Lately, I've been rather lazy when it comes to nails and just opting for a Mushroom coloured shades and barely livening it up and changing, like I used to. Next is the hugely popular Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette. Never getting my mitts on Naked 1 and 2, purely for the fact I found the palette inconvienient especially when I have my MUA ones which are practically the same. But, this small little palette of joy is smaller, more compact and easy for on the go. And with 6 wearable neutral shades, this is PERFECT for everyday. I need. Soap and Glory's Supercat Liner has been on my wishlist for quite some time now and to be perfectly honest I don't know why I still haven't purchased this, it's cheap and I wear eyeliner everyday, well the days I wear make up. There's nothing I love more than a perfect feline flick on my eyes.  Their Thick and Fast Mascara I have tried before and it was love when I first tried it out. Need need need. Lastly on the beauty bits and finishing with Soap and Glory's Fab Pore Hot Cloth Cleanser. There's so many different brands offering hot cloth cleansers, the popular one being Liz Earle's Cleanse and Polish, and I've never really tried them, so what better way to try with this little cute one from S&G. Well, it's not exactly little is it? But, the packaging is cute and that's definitely one of the biggest selling points for me. If anyone of you have tried this hot cloth cleanser, please do tell me your thoughts!

Fashion/Accessories
Spring is imminent which can only mean one thing. Pastel colours. I'm a sucker for pastel colours, whatever the season. And, I'm a big lover of cute knitted bright jumpers, just like this beautiful one from Topshop. I've seen an exact similiar one of this in H&M at pretty much half the price. I think they look so casual yet so chic with a pair of black skinny jeans and paired with some pretty flats, like the Leopard print slipper style shoes pictured. I've also seen the exact same shoes in H&M for £14.99. Ahhhh good old H&M. I love you. I am definitely picking those up, for sure.
The sunglasses are a must, they may not be Rayban (sigh!) but they are essential. You can definitely pick these up for cheap in Primark or H&M. Anywhere! Lastly, this bag. AH. Gorgeous. I own a lot of bags. A lot. However I don't own many black bags. Shocking. Black bags are always needed, and this bag reminds me a lot like the Alexander Wang Rocco bag. You can get so many great dupes on Ebay. I love love love the zip detailing and the fact it comes with a long strap too!

Okay so now I am lusting over all of these things, and wanting them all...
Currently I am fresh out of the shower, towel on my head and sipping green tea. I'm desperately trying to cut down on the caffeine. Let's see how long I last with this!

I hope you've all had a fabulous weekend, and a fabulous day.
Much Love

soap and glory face soap and clarity face wash

 photo sampgxoxo_zps7dde7728.jpg photo sgx_zps49d89ee3.jpg

I'm always on the look out for new skincare products, I'm currently on a mission to strip back my current skincare routine back to basics, as my skin has become so aggravated, which means hello blemishes, after using too many different serums, oils, cleansers, exfoliaters, moisturisers, it's time I stuck to something just to see what happens. Thus enter this product... Which, by the way I totally picked up on a whim, no reviews, nothing, just browsing the Soap and Glory aisle in Boots, as usual, and I picked this up, and have been using it for about 3 weeks now. (YES HELLO A QUARTER USED oops sorry!)
I'm always apprenhensive using new skincare products just because I usually react to them all the time, breaking out like you don't know. You would never have thought that only in the past year I have started breaking out! It's definitely buying all these products (thank you blogging!) and using different stuff.

But, yeah anyway on to this. I've been using this morning and night daily for the past 3 weeks, however using a more deep cleanser for eye make up, but generally using this for the base of all my make up.
So far so good. I haven't broke out yet, and I usually would have done if using a new product by now. So, I'm definitely more than happy about that! The packaging again...ah Soap and Glory killing it everytime with their quirky and cutesy packaging. This is only a tube and it still looks pretty with the different type faces, and the pink EVERYWHERE. Love!

So, what actually is this?
It's a 3-in-1 daily cleansing vitamin C facial wash, which contains the superfruit plum which is a skin brightening complex! (Always good!) With 150ml of product, a little pea sized amount is only needed, so this will last you a long time. Applying it into damp hands, rub until a soft lather forms all over your face, and you start to smell the fresh scent, which I LOVE. Not too overpowering. I would say though, definitely avoid getting this into your eyes, hurts like a bitch. The formula is great though, you can't go wrong with gel cleansers, and the small pink beads help to exfoliate whilst cleansing which is great!
After using this my skin definitely feels and looks so much more fresh and bright, which is what it claims, and I have to agree. I'm really enjoying using this at the moment, and with no break outs in sight I really can't complain now, can I?!

You can buy it here from Boots for £7, where there is currently 3-for-2 on all Soap and Glory skincare products. Definitely worth checking out!

Has anybody tried this before? Or any other skincare products from S&G?
Much Love

rimmel wake me up range

Hello lovelies! Look who's FINALLY blogging. YAY let's all dance. Or just me? Yeah, probably just me.
I have to say I'm bloody well happy to be blogging again, it's definitely my happy place, I'll tell you that.

Anyway... moving away from my ramblings, today I bring you the Wake Me Up range from Rimmel, which has definitely done it's rounds across the blogosphere, and the foundation is everywhere across blogs. That being said, I thought I'd shed my two pennys worth on these products. First things first, I love them. Yes. I really do. This foundation is an absolute dream to apply and the formula, the finish, the scent, the way it makes me feel is just amazing. If a foundation can finally make me feel pretty good about my skin then that's a clear winner in my eyes. I tend to gravitate towards full coverage foundations, anything that will hide my dull and tired skin as well as one that will hide those annoying blemishes. After using Estee Lauder's infamous DW for a while now, my skin got used to it and just hated the way it transferred all the time, and after reading countless reviews of this foundation, I decided to bite the bullet and get it. It's always tricky knowing what shade you are with drugstore brands, so picking out 'True Ivory' on a whim was a good choice as it's a perfect match. I love the glass bottle design and how lightweight it is, which makes it even better for travelling, it also has a pump dispenser too which again is always fantastic for a Foundation. (Another reason why I was getting super annoyed with DW!!) This is Rimmel's first foundation that visibly reawakens and illuminates skin with a  radiant glow. I have to agree. My face feels instantly fresh and looks flawless. You think foundations that claim radiant glow would be 'Omg so much shimmer' but honestly, you can hardly notice the little shimmer particles! I would say that this is a medium coverage, definitely buildable if you prefer a more full look, but I'm definitely happy with this. I apply it with my RT buffing brush which I love doing, as it gives a more polished, flawless finish. Overall, I'd say this foundation is my ultimate favourite at the moment. The price is fantastic, the natural looking effect is has is fab, the longevity is great too, claiming to last 10 hours I'd say around 8 which for me I don't have a problem with. A definite 10/10 for me and I will repurchasing again!

Now, on to another Wake Me Up product from Rimmel, the Instance Radiance Shimmer Touch in the
shade 'Radiant Rose'. This little beauty right here is a cream blusher and highlighter all in one. Gotta love multi purpose products, hey?! Seriously though. I love this. They come in two shades, the one I have and one called 'Shimmering Sand' which is more of a bronzer shimmer. The product itself are really pigmented so a little goes a long way, only a pea sized amount in my opinion is needed on each cheek. Easily blendable too, I sometimes use my fingers or the RT blush brush or buffing brush, usually a mixture of all 3. Once you've found a application method you like, go for it, whatever works for you is fine. Again, the shimmer isn't extremely full on, no your face will not be covered in sparkle and glitter, just tiny small flecks which are only noticeable in direct sunlight. I just love the pop of colour it adds, or as Rimmel say 'long lasting flush of colour'. I think this is a great product and such a handy small tube too, easy for on the go. I also love the orange lid coinciding with the foundation bottle.

I bought both these products on 3 for 2 in boots, as well as buying the new apocolips lip products, but are available pretty much anywhere, Tesco, Superdrug, Boots. And, so cheap too with the Foundation £8.99 and the Shimmer Touch £4.99!

Have you tried any of these two? What are your thoughts?
Much Love
